Who writes the pages on this website?
United Trading Company writes them. We are a fire safety and PPE supplier in Karachi, with a shop at Shop no 1, Shams Chamber, Shahrah-e-Liaquat, opposite DIGP investigation office, Seari Quarters. Every page is checked by a person against the sources before it goes live.
Do you have a reason to prefer your own products?
Yes, and we say so. We sell the equipment and services these pages explain. We keep facts and offers apart: a guide states what a standard, a rule or a product does, and the offer to quote sits in a clearly marked block. We do not pay for rankings, we do not write or buy reviews, and we do not name competitors in a negative way.
Where do the facts come from?
We use the strongest source we can find, in this order:
- Official texts: laws, notices, directives and the standards bodies that publish them.
- Manufacturer datasheets and product markings.
- Government and agency data, and published research.
- Reputable news reports, named and dated.
- Trade guides from established suppliers, named as such.
Pages list their sources in plain text at the foot. Where only one news report supports a fact, we say so. Where sources disagree, we show both. Where we could not verify something, we leave it out instead of guessing.
How do you show that a page is current?
Every page shows the date its facts were last checked. Rules, notices and figures that change carry the year they apply to. If a date on a page looks old to you, tell us and we will check it.
Why are there no prices on the pages?
Prices of safety equipment change with supplier costs and with the exact model. We give you a quote for your items and quantity instead. Call or WhatsApp 0313 2291500, or use the quote form.
Are the pictures real photographs?
Not yet in every case. Where a product image is an illustration and not a photograph of the stock we hold, it may not show the exact model or brand. Photographs of our own shop, stock and work will be labelled as such when we add them.
What happens when you get something wrong?
We correct it. Tell us the page, the sentence and what you think is wrong, and send a source if you have one. We check it, fix the page and update the "last checked" date. When a correction changes the meaning of a page, we note the change at the foot of it.
What can these pages not do?
They are general information in plain words. They are not legal advice, engineering advice or insurance advice. Rules differ between buildings, and the final word on a fire protection design or a notice belongs to the authority concerned and to a qualified professional. In a fire, leave the building and call the emergency services before you try to put the fire out.
What do we not do?
We do not offer fire safety training or issue certificates, so we have no pages for them. We do not publish customer names, licences, certificates or years in business that we cannot show. We add them only when we can prove them.
