How does a blanket put out a fire?

Is a fire safety blanket the same as a welding blanket?

How do I use a blanket on a pan fire?
Read these steps once now, not in the fire. If the fire is bigger than the pan, leave the room, close the door and call the fire brigade.

- Pull both tapes down to free the blanket from its pouch.
- Hold the top edge with your hands behind the cloth, so it shields your fingers.

What does the standard BS EN 1869 test?
BS EN 1869:2019 is the British and European standard for single-use blankets. Its tests include an electrical resistance test, a cooking oil fire test and a heptane fire test. Sellers in Pakistan say their blanket meets it. We do not say so until the paper for that model is in our hands. Ask us for it.
Is a blanket a legal requirement in Pakistan?

What do I check before I buy a blanket?
